BCS Substitute Teacher and Administrative Assistant

As a BCS Substitute Teacher at Bethel Church of Redding, you will play a vital role in maintaining the educational flow for K-8th grade students in the absence of their regular teacher or in a tutoring role. Your main responsibilities will include managing classroom behavior, implementing lesson plans, working one-on-one with students, and ensuring a positive learning environment. Additionally, you will be performing administrative tasks and assisting school administrators. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to follow instructions, and possess strong communication skills.

Your duties will also involve:

• Following lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure a consistent learning experience.
• Managing classroom dynamics to promote participation and minimize distractions.
• Supervising students in various settings—classroom, playground, and cafeteria.
• Adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Developing long-term lesson plans when acting as a long-term substitute.

(This is a short-term position that will end by June 6)

Weekly Hours: Flexible

Salary Range: $17 - $20 per hour

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• University Degree.
• An active teaching credential is a plus.
• Familiarity with Bethel Church's core values.
