Title : Outreach Director
Position Status : Full-time, Non-Exempt
Reports to : Executive Director
Description : The Outreach Director at Bethel Church provides strategic leadership of all local and global outreach partnerships and initiatives, empowering the church to live out its mission to be and make disciples who are centered on Jesus.
Qualifications :
Consistent spiritual and moral character, with a vibrant walk with the Lord and dedication to servant leadership, personal responsibility, and healthy relationships.
Demonstrated competence in strategic planning, program evaluation, and financial management
Proven ability to cast vision, build teams, and mobilize people for ministry with strong leadership, organizational, communication, and delegation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and local / global partners
Demonstrated cross-cultural competency and understanding of effective discipleship strategies within the local church.
A Bethel member or willing to become one within six months, following the Bethel membership covenant.
Bachelor’s degree required; 3–5 years of cross-cultural ministry experience preferred.
Leadership and Vision :
In conjunction with the Executive Team, establish and execute a compelling vision for local and global outreach that reflects Bethel’s mission and values.
Partner with church leadership to foster an outreach culture rooted in Jesus, characterized by transformation and spiritual growth.
Guide outreach efforts with humility and intentionality, encouraging others to take next steps in their lifelong discipleship journey through service.
Create and manage an annual strategic ministry plan, ensuring clear communication, effective budgeting, and alignment with overall church goals.
Evaluate outreach initiatives regularly, celebrating progress and addressing areas for improvement.
Local and Global Outreach
Strategically vet and manage local and global partnerships with mission organizations and missionaries, focusing on deeper, aligned relationships that celebrate the unity of the body of Christ across diverse cultures.
Cultivate and maintain positive, trusting relationships with global and local partners.
Ensure outreach is central to all of discipleship by equipping volunteers and leaders to serve and give in alignment with Jesus’ rhythms, emphasizing spiritual growth and biblical principles.
Plan and oversee short-term mission trips, training participants to serve with humility, cultural sensitivity, and a gospel- centered approach; include post-trip application
Develop opportunities for meaningful service that address community needs and point people to Jesus, and are integrated within discipleship initiatives church-wide
Recruit, train, and develop leaders who reflect God’s love in their service and discipleship journey.
Ensure all programs adhere to church policies, safety standards, and cross-cultural best practices.
General :
Supervise and provide continued development of the Adult Ministry Coordinator
Foster and grow an environment of teamwork, unity and alignment across all areas of discipleship and leadership.
Collaborate with church-wide events as needed
