Bethel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a 7 hour per day Testing Coordinator for Willamette High School. This position will be classified as 3.5 hours Educational Assistant II (control #7351) and 3.5 hours Office Coordinator I (control #3652).

Nature of Work

A testing coordinator is primarily responsible for high school state testing, including, but not limited to : Smarter Balanced, OAKS, PSAT, and WorkKeys. This position helps track senior Essential Skills for the purpose of graduation. This includes organizing all aspects of testing, such as proctoring tests, scheduling students, training proctors, working with staff on student accommodations, working with counselors & principals, and working with the District Office.

An Educational Assistant II provides individual and small group support and personal assistance, often in a standard or special purpose educational program, to students with distinct and exceptional educational needs and challenges as determined by a certificated specialist. Clerical and word processing or computer database updating duties may be assigned to positions as time permits but are not considered primary tasks and do not require a large percentage of time.

Selection Factors

  • Ability to coordinate and administer standardized tests (state, national, AP, etc.)
  • Ability to manage test security and materials.
  • Ability to train and supervise test proctors.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with testing regulations.
  • Ability to communicate with students, families, and staff about testing information.
  • Ability to schedule the workload and meet the needs of the program.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to learn the duties of the position after a brief orientation period.
  • Ability to work with small groups and individual students in specific programs.
  • Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans.
  • Ability to interact positively with children and adults and observe individual student abilities.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, administrators, parents, and co-workers.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and prompt attendance.
  • Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position.
  • Knowledge of the basic developmental stages of a child's learning process.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent. Previous course work and training, or child development, childcare or instructional assistance experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities needed to perform the work. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the required experience.

    Upon offer of employment applicants must obtain a fingerprint clearance from the Oregon Department of Education through a process authorized by the Bethel School District. Applicants would be responsible for the one-time fingerprint clearance fee.
