What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applied Health Sciences (AHS) Adjunct Faculty position at Bethel University?
Job Summary
Teach courses (in person, not remotely) in following disciplines: nutrition, functional anatomy/kinesiology, exercise testing/prescription (lecture- and lab-based instruction), integrative human physiology, statistics, mentoring research methodology, advanced applied laboratory skills.
At Bethel, we offer classes that are 1, 2 or 4 credits. Adjunct load will vary based on capabilities of the Adjunct Professor and needs of the department. We pay $1,250 per credit hour for in person courses.
Responsibilities
- Prepare course materials pertaining to courses of instruction (see potential options in job summary) in a manner that expands the limits of known knowledge of AHS students.
- Present course materials, face to face, in a concise/ organized manner that facilitates interdisciplinary and collaborative relationships, systematic investigation, and application to real-world scenarios.
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence, innovation, service, and leadership.

- Adaptability to present learning outcomes to health and wellness oriented students’ needs for marketplace preparation
- Strong and clear oral communication of academic conceptsReliability and dependability
- Ability to facilitate engaging conversations that assess comprehension
Experience
Record of successful teaching experiences preferred. Clinical or other marketplace experiences preferred.
Education
Minimum of master’s degree required. Clinical degrees are welcome and strongly encouraged to apply including physical therapist, occupational therapist, nutritional degrees, physical assistant or other medical degrees. Master’s or PhD in content areas of instruction are also welcome.
