Responsibilities
Your Daily Life at Bethesda Game Studios
As UI/UX Designer (UI Scripter), you will…
- Rely heavily on AS3 scripting, Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Adobe Animate) and C to implement new assets and designs
- Be responsible for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting and improving existing UI
- Work on interfaces including, but not limited to, the Main Meny, Store, HUD, Inventory, and other game feature visual design elements
- Collaborate with designers and engineers using best practices to ensure performance optimization
Qualifications
What Makes You S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
- You have 3 years of scripting experience
- You are proficient with AS3 or another scripting language
- You possess a solid understanding of C and are comfortable working with a C event system
- You can use Adobe Animate to build in-game assets based on mockups
- You have a keen eye for pixel-perfect UI, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in mockups during implementation
- You can quickly debug menus using various tools and techniques
- You are self-motivated, with the ability to take feedback and properly reflect comments in your work
- You are an excellent team player with very strong work ethic and a collaborative attitude
- You possess an understanding of and appreciation for milestones, schedules, deadlines and efficient game development processes
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills
- You are passionate for games and gaming
A portfolio with work samples must be submitted.

- You are familiar with the Fallout franchise
- You have experience working with games as a service, live products and Monetization teams
- You have a university degree or equivalent industry-related technical art and design experience
- You possess a drive to learn new toolsets and skills in technical art and tools creation
- You have experience with Scaleform-based interfaces
- You have prior experience working on AAA games
Salary Range
Senior Quest Designer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $55,000 - $140,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At ZeniMax certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, such as merit increases and discretionary bonuses. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are not guaranteed.
