About the Role:
Responsibilities:
- Measures vital signs, review medications and records information on patients' charts/EMR Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone calls
- Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Document patient information
- The Medical Assistant assists in in-office procedures
- Prescription refills
- Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by physicians.
Providing encounter summary reports to each patient. Multiphone line answering, scheduling new appointments, assisting in prior authorizations for hospital visit requests. Familiarity with medical billing and collections laws is beneficial. Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently.
Under general supervision, assists physician and staff members in providing optimal ambulatory health care to patients, assists with clinical and clerical duties regarding patient care.
Work involves direct patient contact.
General Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Fridays : half a day
Education:
- High school Diploma
- Current Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required –
- Current AHA CPR certification
