Job Summary:
Bethesda Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. This role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to lead a team of 2-3 junior electricians on new and existing electrical projects, and the capability to work independently when needed. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair both new and retro-fit electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Test electrical systems and components for continuity, voltage, and resistance.
- Mentor and guide apprentice electricians as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician License in Maryland.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Journeyperson electrician.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in residential and commercial electrical work.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Knowledge of smart home and automation systems.
- Experience with service panel upgrades and generator installations.
