What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Teacher position at Bethlehem Children's School?
The Bethlehem Children’s School offers multi-age experiential education for the whole child, emphasizing nature, wisdom, and wellness. Our vision is to inspire a life-long love of learning while developing a deep connection to self, others, and the world.
The Bethlehem Children’s School hosts an Afternoon School program that acts as an extension of the regular school day, allowing students and teachers to continue their work, as well as provide families with high-quality early childhood education in a natural, play-based setting.
The Afternoon School program runs from 3:00 - 5:45 pm for an additional cost to families. Our afterschool program serves two age groups of children; 3-4 years old and 4-6 years old. The supervising staff members should provide and integrate age-appropriate enrichment and play-based activities throughout the afternoon. All staff who are supporting afternoon school must be prepared to bring students outside daily regardless of the weather. On-site training is provided. Supervising staff must be available 2-5 afternoons weekly. Afternoon school staff are allotted the opportunity to work during school breaks as well as summer camp.
This is a fun, engaging position where teachers are encouraged to play, participate, and help facilitate/teach young students. High school and college students are encouraged to apply.
