Bethlehem Children’s School (BCS) seeks an experienced early childhood music teacher who is enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about working with young students in a warm and supportive environment. The position is part-time, every Tuesday from 9:15 am - 2:30 pm with an immediate start. The position goes through the end of the school year (June 12) with the possibility of work during our summer program and contract renewal for the fall.

Bethlehem Children’s School is a progressive, early-childhood focused independent school in Slingerlands, NY. BCS offers a multi-age, child-led, experiential education for the whole child, emphasizing nature, wisdom, and wellness. BCS serves children ages 3 through Kindergarten, with a vision to inspire a lifelong love of learning while developing a deep connection to self, others and the world. Our students spend time outdoors everyday, rain or shine.
Responsibilities include:
Introduce groups of children, ages 2.5-6, to the world of music using songs, movement activities, simple instruments, and a variety of instructional materials, resources, and experiences. Class sessions are 30 minutes and range in 9-15 children in each class.
Qualifications:
Must be personally engaging and friendly
Must feel comfortable working with groups of children, ages 2.5-6 years old
Must possess behavior management skills and understanding of supporting positive behaviors
Must possess strong vocal skills; playing an instrument is a plus
Must be able to work independently
Possess good communication and time management skills
Requirements:
Experience teaching in an early childhood education setting
Musical background preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
