What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Bethlehem Elementary/SAU 35?
Candidates should be able to work as part of a team, have a strong work ethic, be enthusiastic and possess the ability to promote the development of children.
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
Facilitates participation of all assigned students in classroom activities.
Facilitates peer integration
Implements IEP goals and objectives in an integrated setting
Gathers and records data on IEP goals
Carries out health, behavior, and safety protocols
Communicates with the teachers, special education teacher, administration, and related service providers about student progress and observations
Maintains confidentiality when it comes to student information
Serves as a resource person to the special education team
Maintains positive relationships with all school staff, students, and parents
Refers all parent concerns to classroom teachers and/or special education teacher
Supports and implements discipline philosophy of school.
Follows District policies, procedures, goals, and approved curriculum for content areas.
Follows all federal, state, and school district policies, laws, and procedures that pertain to public education.
