As The Configuration Management Senior Analyst working in a remote setting, you will manage a controlled environment around IT Configuration Items (CIs), establishing a reliable source of asset data, and providing the linkage between IT Service and Configuration Management. This controlled environment effectively captures and manages IT CI information, supports an effective CMDB and provides value-added services that improve organizational capabilities, manage risks, lower costs, and increase productivity.
The ideal candidate will and must possess the following :
- Perform Configuration Management activities relating to identification, control, and tracking of designated systems and / or equipment
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (switches, routers, and servers) practices gained through work in a NOC or a network operations support role
- Interface with department personnel to ensure new systems / services are compliant with CM policy
- Help define, implement, and integrate configuration management policies and procedures to support the configuration management database (CMDB)
- Review and establish Configuration Management audit policies to meet requirements
- Interface with and coordinate with other ITIL process teams in the organization to include Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Enablement, Capacity Management, and Release Management
- Direct experience with ITSM (IT Service Management) tools such as ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with network management tools such as BigFix, Infoblox, and Solarwinds.
- Experience designing, developing, and establishing configuration management documentation based on prescribed standards, program requirements, and conventional best practices. This should include management of documentation updates and securing client approvals.
- Experience conducting closeout actions and archiving all CM documentation
- Experience in establishing technical baselines, monitoring adherence to baselines and managing drift against CM baselines
- Experience in designing and publishing reports through ITSM tool such as ServiceNow
- Expert level skills in data analysis tools such as Excel
- Experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of SLAs and KPIs
- Experience with Service Mapping, Discovery, and CSDM are required.
