What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing Specialist position at Betis Group, Inc.?
The Sourcing Specialist (Hybrid) will support the E-Business Sales Department for Betis Direct by creating formal price quotes of IT products in response to quote requests or published solicitations. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to our Mclean office location, and includes benefits. The salary will be commensurate with experience within the local market rate for position. This position reports primarily to the E-Business Sales Manager, but may also report to other departments due to additionally assigned duties
Job Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. - Successfully maintain client and vendor relationships
- Receive quote requests from current and future clients via community email and individual email boxes
- Request vendor quotes from Tier 1, Tier 2, or manufacturer/OEM as appropriate
- Act as a point of contact for sales related matters
- Deliver superior customer service through prompt and courteous responses to clients
- Create timely and accurate formal quotes in accordance with Betis internal processes and client-required formats
- Conduct timely (usually daily) follow up communications with clients to ensure deadlines and product specifications are met
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
- Create final products in accordance with job and/or contractual requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to execute sales strategy
- Familiarity with current Information Technology products and trends.
- Initiate contact with existing and potential customers
- Ability to identify and properly qualify business opportunities
- Prepare and present formal quote proposals to organizations
- Maintain a strong knowledge of e-business and technology initiatives
- Ability to provide accurate sales quotes in a timely, consistent manner
- Possess strong research skills to locate and quote specialty items
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to include developing and presenting formal presentations to all levels of management
- Excellent interpersonal skills to solidify vendor, client and internal Betis Group relationships
- Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Strong communication skills and ability to obtain required information in order to cultivate positive and effective supplier relations
- Communicate effectively with Accounting Department and collect/deliver information as required
- Rectify any vendor or client issues
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of vendor quotes
- Interview and identify new vendors or suppliers in order to establish reliable sources for customer purchase orders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic market and technical understanding of service/agency needs and requirements for the DoD, and federal, state and local agencies, as well as commercial organizations
- Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem-solving.
- Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources
- Strong understanding and expression of written and verbal English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents
- Sensitivity to problems; ability to determine when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
Experience
Individual must have at least one year of experience in IT sales and purchasing environment; and one to two years of experience successfully negotiating and closing sales; OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
