What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler Technician position at Bettcher?
Essential Functions :
- Retrieve and studies assembly instructions, detailed part prints, assembly layouts and parts lists.
- Gather components / parts / units, tools and / or material from inventory using a supplied material list.
- Balance shafts and rotating components.
- Install motors into spindle housings.
- Modifies various parts using both hand and power tools to meet the needs of each specific build.
- Prepare parts prior to assembly. This includes small sized unit assembly work.
- Follow detailed work instructions on order or assembly operations.
- Assemble machines / units to current assembly procedures, layouts and parts lists.
- Perform bench-type processes and sub-assemblies using hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling.
- Applies knowledge to identify parts that do not meet industry standards through testing and report defective materials and / or questionable conditions to the Team Lead or department Supervisor.
- Reads and interprets work instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
- Accurately reports production results (labor time, part counts and status) in production system.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
- Submits engineering change requests to supervisor for evaluation.
- Train other assembly technicians as directed.
