We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Commercial Lender. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and approving loan applications for businesses, ensuring compliance with lending regulations, and building strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of loan origination processes and demonstrate proficiency in financial software and basic math skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess loan applications by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and business plans to determine eligibility.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential borrowers, including background checks and contract reviews.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored lending solutions.
- Cross sell bank products and services.
- Monitor loan repayment activities and collect delinquent loan payments or secure collateral.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Actively participate in community events and represent the Bank with a high level of integrity.
- Adhere to bank policies and and support management decisions professionally.
- Stay updated on industry trends, lending regulations, and market conditions to make informed lending decisions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years proven experience as a loan officer within the banking financial services sector.
- Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills.
- Familiarity with financial software tools used in the lending process.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, particularly in contract management and documentation.
- Self driven and motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lending regulations.
