Job Summary

The Stability Specialist will collaborate closely with the Quality team to manage, track, and report on shelf life stability of both new and existing products. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of stability testing, addressing shelf life inquiries and providing data-driven recommendations to optimize product shelf life. The Specialist will also identify and propose solutions to stability challenges, ensuring product quality and consistency. Additionally, the Specialist may assist with other formulation-related tasks as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement of product performance and compliance.

Essential Functions

• Oversees accelerated stability testing for new products and reformulations
• Conducts real-time stability for all probiotic products and ensures compliance with shelf life claims
• Collaborates closely with the Research and Development, Quality, and Project Management teams
• Keeps impeccable records for all stability studies
• Makes recommendations for improvements to current stability protocols
• Reviews existing stability data to identify areas of opportunity
• Proposes and implements formula changes as necessary to ensure shelf life compliance
• Works with the Quality team to resolve shelf-life inquiries and investigations
• Assists with other Research and Development responsibilities as needed

Additional Responsibilities

• Works as part of a Formulations team
• Attends and participates in meetings as necessary
• Supports and is involved in company and department safety policies, procedures, programs and activities
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area
• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a scientific or technical field from a four-year college or university
• Two to five years of related experience and/or training in the Dietary Supplement Industry
• Knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee may exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
• May be exposed to considerable noise from machinery.
