Job Summary
The Operations Manager – Raw Materials is responsible for overseeing dispensing operations to ensure inventory accuracy, productivity, and efficient space utilization. This role involves coordinating programs to enhance warehouse methods, equipment performance, and perishable product rotation. The manager will supervise, train, and motivate personnel while recommending actions such as promotions and disciplinary measures. Additionally, they will maintain warehouse conditions through layout improvements, equipment inspections, and cleanliness. Generating reports to track inventory and efficiency is a key responsibility.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains warehousing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs to ensure inventory accuracy, productivity improvements, effective utilization of warehouse space, and proper use of equipment.
- Recommends measures to improve warehousing methods, equipment performance, and proper rotation of perishable product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department.
- Closely communicates, directs, supports, trains, motivates and listens to inline personnel reports.
- Recommends personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by suggesting and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Generates warehouse reports to measure inventory accuracy, productivity and efficiency, performance to schedule, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Develops among assigned personnel a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or three to five years related experience in a warehouse management environment; with strong technical, business, and managerial skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
