Job Summary
Better Being is looking for a Picker to perform all duties and tasks associated with Dispensing and the Returns process. This is a GMP related position. The work schedule for this role is Monday – Thursday 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Essential Functions
- Collect, warehouse and distribute materials, tools, equipment and/or products within assigned facility. Reads production schedules, work orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, collected or distributed.
- Weighs materials (mostly powders) using a spoon, scoop, bucket, or container to precise measurements/quantities from authorized work orders or terminals.
- Transports materials and items from warehouse or production areas to designated areas by hand, hand truck, or electric hand truck.
- Opens, closes or assembles/seals boxes, bags, drums, cans, and/or miscellaneous items from assigned production rooms. Consolidates items on pallets by location and/or item type and transports orders to the packaging or shipping department.
- Marks materials and containers with identifying information or other marking device.
- Identifies problems with material such as open, leaking, or spilled material, bad lot or item stickers.
- May weigh or count items within facility to ensure conformance to company standards.
- May complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments and locations.
- May use computer to enter records.
Additional Responsibilities
- Must have experience with hand truck for material handling.
- Support teamwork to attain department objectives.
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Wear proper work attire as directed by company operating procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GdED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good written and verbal skills are necessary.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Permit.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
- Required to wear a respirator or dust mask due to dusty environment.
- May be required to pass a pre-employment lift test and physical.
