Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented prepress graphic designer to join our team. This specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our printing processes by conducting preflight assessments and preparing digital files for proofing and printing. He or she will utilize a range of software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (with InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop) to edit files, manipulate PDFs, and optimize designs for printing.
Essential Functions
- Proficiently validate files using Adobe Creative Suite and in some cases turn concepts into graphic designs.
- Execute sophisticated imposition techniques using Hybrid and HP printing software, ensuring optimal layout and efficiency in printing processes.
- Proactively identify and swiftly resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the prepress phase, offering effective solutions to maintain project timelines.
Job Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro for PDF manipulation and optimization.
- Familiarity with imposition software such as Hybrid Cloudflow and PACKZ and/or HP SmartStream a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Prior experience in prepress or print design or in a similar role is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience desired.
- Basic work schedule of Monday – Thursday, 10-hour shifts, with flexibility considered.
- Familiarity with the printing industry is desired
- Knowledge of quality control processes in printing
- Familiarity with graphic design for marketing and consumer products is desired if you meet the requirements and have a passion for the printing industry, we encourage you to apply.
