Job Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time Shipper Lead to support the operations supervisor in managing a large distribution line and ensuring department goals are met. The work schedule for this role is Monday - Friday 6:00am - 11:00am.
Essential Functions
- Assist the supervisor in overseeing distribution line and helping meet department objectives
- Operate software related to managing the distribution line such as AMP console and Pick line manager
- Interpret reports such as inventory reports in order to make process management decisions
- Assist with training and other onboarding tasks for new employees
- Insure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Must contribute to department team incentive goals. Team incentive goals and rewards are based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or process is completed. Each team member is dependent upon the contribution level of his/her co-worker.
- As part of the distribution team, each employee is required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department, including learning error correction procedures etc.
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to learn to use and interpret computer various applications
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
- . While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift overhead; climb or balance; stoop, or crouch; talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
- May be required to pass a pre-employment lift test and physical.
