Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Communications and Community Outreach, and working directly with the sales, billing, retention, non-dues, and marketing/communications/events departments, the Benefits & Engagement Coordinator is an integral part of providing the primary support system for new and existing Accredited Businesses. This is a job that relies heavily on multiple phone calls per day.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- This position has three areas of primary responsibility: Servicing accredited businesses, communication and administration of benefits, and retention of ABs.
- Ensure that all benefits of Accreditation are communicated to new and existing ABs.
- Ensure that all upcoming events are relayed to ABs.
- Ensure that exclusive BBB marketing opportunities are relayed to ABs.
- Make outgoing calls on a daily basis (minimums are required). This includes at least 160 calls/week.
- Make sure the business update queue in the CRM is clear on a daily basis.
- Work in the CRM to update existing AB profiles, like bad email addresses and work on creating more robust profiles for ABs (among other reports that can be pulled for special projects).
- Respond to inquiries from ABs in a timely manner.
- Success will be measured primarily by production, including, but not limited to, the number of outgoing calls, the number of successful welcome and update calls, the amount of data entered or updated in the CRM, increases in first year and/or overall retention, AB feedback, and other benchmarks set by management.
Other Tasks:
- Responsible for securing booth for BBB at various home shows and Business Expos throughout the Louisville/Western/Southern KY area. Lexington staff is responsible for Lexington (events/networking/fundraisers, etc.), but team efforts for ALL events is encouraged.
- Responsible for scheduling workers for the booths, setting up the booths, working shifts at the booth, and breaking down the booth (or coordinating those efforts). Works with BBB Benefits Coordinator to be sure ABs get tent cards/plaques for the events (President/CEO will visit many of the shows to say hello to ABs).
- Responsible for networking events to be held @ BBB. Find partners for events (likely local Chambers).
- Attend networking events, community events, etc. to network with ABs and non-ABs, provide information about benefits to ABs, and otherwise act as an ambassador for BBB.
- Other tasks and duties as necessary or assigned.
Community Relations:
- (Duties shared by the Fundraising and Events Specialist) Responsible for finding events in BBB’s service area that BBB should be involved in. These could include local festivals, fairs, trade shows,B2B opportunities, or other opportunities that gets BBB in front of the public and potential Accredited Businesses.
- Responsible for scheduling workers for the events, helping to set up the booth, work the booth, and shut down the booth.
- Work closely with various chambers, as they are good partnerships for us.
- Contact local Chambers, Rotary Clubs, etc. to coordinate speaking engagements for the President/CEO on the BBB and about doing ethical business (when time allows).

Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree is appreciated, but experience alone is acceptable with demonstrated proficiency.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative standards.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance consistent with federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to sit, look at a computer screen, talk on the phone, type, and/or take notes for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 to 40 pounds, when needed.
- Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone and in person in English.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation with acceptable minimum insurance coverage for traveling locally, regionally, and nationally when applicable.
Work Schedule: Full time schedule Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30 pm (currently work ½ Fridays). Some night and/or weekend work will be required on an as-needed basis for events, expos, fundraisers, etc.
Compensation & Reimbursements: (subject to change at management’s discretion): Annual salary plus expenses and any potential bonuses. Expenses must be approved by Supervisor. Any approved expenses and/or mileage (at the Federal rate) will be reimbursed each month.
