Accounting Specialist

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner.
• Track and follow up on outstanding payments, sending reminders as needed.
• Process and apply payments received via various methods (checks, electronic payments, credit cards).
• Maintain accurate customer account records and investigate discrepancies.
• Work with customers to resolve billing issues and disputes.

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and timely payment.
• Maintain vendor records and reconcile discrepancies with suppliers.
• Schedule and process payments via checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.
• Monitor and manage outstanding payables to ensure timely disbursements.
• Assist in managing expense reports and reimbursements.

Other Accounting Duties:

• Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts regularly.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Assist in generating reports for board meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Learn billing procedures in Blue and assist in answering staff questions about AB billing and other financial issues.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

• An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
• General understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Starting annual salary range $50,000 to $55,000
