As an Accounting Specialist with BBB, you will contribute to this mission by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. This role is perfect for an accounting professional looking for work-life balance, a mission-driven workplace, and a 37.5 hour no-weekend schedule.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR) :
Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner.Track and follow up on outstanding payments, sending reminders as needed.Process and apply payments received via various methods (checks, electronic payments, credit cards).Maintain accurate customer account records and investigate discrepancies.Work with customers to resolve billing issues and disputes.Accounts Payable (AP) :
Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and timely payment.Maintain vendor records and reconcile discrepancies with suppliers.Schedule and process payments via checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.Monitor and manage outstanding payables to ensure timely disbursements.Assist in managing expense reports and reimbursements.Other Accounting Duties :
Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts regularly.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.Assist in generating reports for board meetings.Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.Learn billing procedures in Blue and assist in answering staff questions about AB billing and other financial issues.Assist with other projects as needed.A successful candidate in this position will have :
An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.2 years of experience in accounts payable and / or accounts receivable.General understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.What you’ll get :
