Nurse Manager, Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Night Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Emergency Department, including the Adult ED, Psych ED, and Pediatric ED. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care aligned with departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include employee evaluations, recruitment, retention, and fostering a culture of engagement and excellence among staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department during the night shift.
- Oversee employee performance evaluations, recruitment, and retention efforts.
- Ensure compliance with departmental and hospital policies, as well as regulatory standards.
- Foster a collaborative and engaging work environment for all staff.
- Support patient care delivery across Adult, Pediatric, and Psych EDs.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) required.
Licensure/Certification:
- Active Massachusetts RN license required.
- Specialty certification in emergency nursing or related areas is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department.
- Prior experience as a charge nurse or in a supervisory role is strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and managerial abilities to organize, supervise, and evaluate team performance.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to navigate complex and difficult conversations.
- Proficiency with healthcare software, including patient registration systems and electronic medical records.
