Position Overview
The Nurse Manager is responsible for leading nursing operations in the Emergency Department and related programs, including Clinical Leaders and an ALS Medic program. This role is accountable for ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care while fostering staff empowerment and development. The Nurse Manager will also oversee daily operations, staff performance, clinical standards, interdisciplinary coordination, and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Emergency Department nursing operations
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and professional development
- Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
- Provide clinical leadership and support as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field
- Current New York State RN License
- 3–4 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department
- 1 year of experience in a nurse manager or leadership role
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (via RQI system during orientation)
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire
- TNCC within 18 months of hire
- Moderate sedation competency within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) within 1 year
- Familiarity with The Joint Commission standards
- Experience with Meditech and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Recent and consistent ED background
- Hands-on, able to step into clinical care when needed
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
- Comfortable traveling between two locations regularly
