Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Antenatal Testing Unit Manager, the Ultrasound Technologist plays a vital role in the department's mission by generating high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining operational excellence. This role involves working collaboratively with the Supervisor, Medical Director, and other team members to provide exceptional care and service.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $100,000–$125,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Additional Benefits: Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance available.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, maintaining departmental workflow and adhering to policy and procedural guidelines.
- Ensure timely, high-quality imaging while maintaining patient comfort and modesty.
- Uphold ALARA principles to minimize patient exposure to ultrasound energy.
- Assist in maintaining equipment functionality, initiating service requests, and notifying leadership as necessary.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling needs, including on-call duties, to support departmental operations.
- Provide patient-focused care for individuals of all ages, maintaining dignity and respect in all interactions.
- Document procedures and exams accurately, including imaging and ancillary forms such as lab slips and billing documentation.
- Handle patient and staff concerns professionally and escalate issues to the Supervisor as needed.
- Adhere to established infection control and safety procedures.
- Perform Level 2 Fetal Anatomy ultrasounds, biophysical profiles, growth assessments, and assist attending physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures.
QualificationsEducation
- Associate’s degree or certificate program in Ultrasound Technology.
Certifications
- RDMS certification required (or registry-eligible, with RDMS certification required within one year of hire).
Experience
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in high-risk obstetrical ultrasound preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of ultrasound principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in advanced obstetric imaging techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, address concerns, and collaborate with colleagues.
