Position Description:
The Training Professional is tasked with the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs focused on Top Secret (TS) naval systems and processes. This role supports the Department of the Navy (DoN) by equipping personnel with the knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain classified systems critical to mission success. The professional designs tailored curricula, facilitates hands-on and virtual training sessions, and ensures alignment with evolving naval directives and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
· Design TS-Level Training Curricula: Create comprehensive, security-compliant training programs for Top Secret naval systems and processes. Develop detailed lesson plans, presentations, hands-on exercises, and supporting materials that address technical, operational, and procedural requirements. Incorporate classified data and scenarios while adhering to strict DoD security protocols.
· Conduct Training Sessions: Deliver engaging and effective training to military personnel, contractors, and other authorized individuals through in-person, virtual, or hybrid formats. Utilize instructional techniques such as lectures, simulations, and practical demonstrations to ensure comprehension of complex TS-level content. Adapt delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and operational schedules.
· Assess Proficiency in TS Settings: Evaluate trainee performance through written exams, practical assessments, and real-world simulations conducted in controlled, classified environments. Provide constructive feedback, identify skill gaps, and recommend additional training as needed to ensure operational readiness and compliance with TS standards.
· Update Materials per DoN Directives: Regularly revise training content to reflect updates in Department of the Navy policies, technological advancements, and mission requirements. Collaborate with subject matter experts and review classified documentation to ensure all materials remain current, accurate, and aligned with DoN strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Training and Development, or a related field from an accredited institution. Relevant experience or advanced certifications in training development may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and delivering training programs within a Department of Defense environment, with a focus on classified or technical subject matter. Prior work with naval or military systems training is highly desirable.
· Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, or DoD-specific systems like Navy e-Learning) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate). Experience developing interactive digital content and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) is essential.
· Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required due to the classified nature of the training content and environments. Eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access may be necessary depending on specific program requirements.
· Additional Skills: Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple training initiatives simultaneously. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and DoD training standards is preferred.
