The Site Surveyor will provide professional site auditing services to obtain and communicate the necessary technical data to the Better Earth Design Team. The Site Surveyor will help manage and prepare the project scope information needed to adequately design a solar system, as well as provide permit ready documents needed to facilitate the installation of solar systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to, and obtain information necessary from project sites to complete technical design documents for a solar system
- Create detailed rooftop map layouts for solar arrays, including roof layout dimensions and all roof obstructions (pipes, vents, etc.)
- Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to
- Gather required facilities assessment data
- Conduct physical site audit including roof details, electrical details and other pertinent information as may be required
- Prepare and upload site audit documents as needed to coordinate with the Design Team to produce permit-ready documents within 24 hours of Site Audit
- Follow Better Earth Standard Operating Procedures for Site Audit to ensure a smooth handoff between departments
- Provide and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle
- Develop relationships with the entire Better Earth team to support business activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years experience in a discipline related to construction or building sciences; estimating or site auditing experience
- Solar installation experience is preferred
- High School or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or building sciences, engineering, or architecture is preferred
- Ability to understand, read, and comprehends contract documents and plans
- Professional written and verbal communication skills to prepare site audit documents and conduct site audit meetings with customers
- Must be physically able to work on roofs and in attics, as well as lift 50
- Comfort with utilizing technology for job performance (computer, phone, email, etc.)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a clean and valid driving record
- Must be comfortable working on roofs
Compensation:
- $20-$25/hr depending on industry experience
- Hourly - Non-exempt
