Responsibilities
Position Objective:
The CT Technician is a support role and is responsible for playing a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of physician scanning instructions, administering contrast materials including preparing and operating CT scan equipment. The incumbent will work closely with department team members and leaders to facilitate 5-star care for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Operate computerized tomography (CT) equipment to obtain diagnostic images of patient's internal structures
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort during CT scans
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and staff
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of CT images to ensure accurate diagnostic information. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during imaging procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient history, provide additional information when needed, and assist in the interpretation of CT images
- Accurately document patient information, maintain records, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols
- Perform routine maintenance on CT equipment, report malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as necessary to ensure optimal performance
- Stay current with advancements in CT technology, attend training sessions, and pursue continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements/ Skills:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program with a focus on CT imaging
- Current certification as a CT Technologise by the American Registry of Technologists or equivalent
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT Technician with demonstrated proficiency in performing a variety of CT scans
- Working knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Must be able to lift at least 15lbs at times
