Position Summary: The Communications and Donor Relations Manager is responsible for managing external communications to enhance donor engagement and community outreach, while supporting Better Housing Coalition’s fundraising and donor stewardship efforts. This position leads social media and digital communications, email marketing, and other outreach efforts to support BHC’s fundraising and mission-driven communications. Additionally, this role oversees donor database management, gift processing, reporting, and assists in fundraising appeals and events.
Primary Duties:
Communications & Outreach:
- Develop communication strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Monitor and analyze performance to inform future outreach strategies[SB1] .
- Create a content calendar for BHC’s social media channels, ensuring consistent engagement with donors, partners, and the community.
- Craft and distribute compelling communications content, including graphics, videos, and stories that highlight and raise awareness of our mission and impact.
- Contribute to BHC’s email marketing efforts, including donor newsletters, fundraising appeals, and event promotions.
- Collaborate with the External Affairs team to align messaging across all communication platforms.
- Update BHC’s website with relevant fundraising and donor-related content.
Fundraising & Donor Stewardship:
- Support BHC’s fundraising efforts to meet annual fundraising goals, including special events, annual fundraisers and donor stewardship activities, by creating materials, event promotion and providing on-site event assistance.
- Maintain and update the organization's donor client database ensuring data accuracy and integrity, including gift entry and acknowledgement.
- Produce periodic fundraising snapshots and donor reports for goal tracking, stewardship, and board[SB2] meetings.
Minimum Educational & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Experience in fundraising and donor database systems preferred.
- Experience in digital communications, social media management, or email marketing is required
- Experience in graphic design and graphic design software is required
- Previous website maintnenace and optizmization experience.

· Appropriately use proprietary software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
