Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
- Provide memory care for individuals experiencing cognitive challenges, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and minimize challenging behaviors.
- Administer medications as prescribed, adhering strictly to medication administration protocols.
- Support case management efforts by documenting client progress and communicating effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Uphold resident rights by fostering an atmosphere of respect and dignity for all individuals in care.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Work collaboratively with families and other caregivers to develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Skills
- Strong ability in assisting individuals with personal care tasks and daily living activities.
- Experience or training in memory care techniques to effectively support clients with cognitive impairments.
- Knowledge of behavior management practices to address and redirect challenging behaviors positively.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and case management systems.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy is maintained at all times.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is preferred but not mandatory.
