Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide home community care by supporting clients in their routines and ensuring their comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed to maintain client health.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and assist with medication management.
- Offer specialized care for clients with dementia, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Perform catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as required.
- Launder clothing and bedding to maintain cleanliness in the client's environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any changes in the client's condition.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health or patient care is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to assist with medication administration safely and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor towards clients.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting or moving clients when necessary.
