Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals, particularly children and families, facing various challenges. This role requires a strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and the ability to create a safe environment for clients. The Counselor will work in both in-person and telehealth settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client goals.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to support behavioral change.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed to ensure client safety.
- Engage in motivational interviewing to encourage client participation in their treatment.
- Offer counseling services for addiction issues, child-family dynamics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with other professionals and stakeholders involved in the client's care.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions when appropriate, focusing on outpatient support.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling practices is preferred.
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques is beneficial.
- Experience in addiction counseling or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interactions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
