Better Minds Mental Health Counseling, PLLC is a growing mental health private practice located in Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to provide quality mental health services to the community in which we serve. We truly believe that better health begins with a better mind. We also place a strong emphasis and focus on underserved communities and providing culturally-competent therapy. We provide individual, family, couples and group therapy.
Better Minds Mental Health Counseling, PLLC is seeking fee-for-service Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit (MHC-LP). Some responsibilities of the MHC-LP includes but are not limited to:
- Complete intake, if needed
- Meet weekly with clients to provide quality individual, couples, and family therapy.
- Document quality progress notes per session (daily after session)
- Create treatment plans and have ongoing treatment planning
- Ensure that client charts are up-to-date and adequately kept
- Collect co-payments and deductibles
- Submit billing daily
- Commit to ongoing professional development by attending at least 1-2 trainings per year to aid in continuing education of therapy skills
Candidates should:
- Be comfortable working independently
- Have the ability to employ an eclectic approach to meet the unique needs of each client
- Have strong clinical skills
- Have strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Be able to employ a multicultural approach
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Must have their MHC-LP within NYS
- Must have Professional Liability Insurance (or can obtain prior to on-boarding)
- Must have completed a MHC internship prior to obtaining MHC-LP
- Be able to commit to at least one year providing individual, couples, and family therapy with the practice

The ideal candidate for this Fee-For-Service Position will have the ability to maintain a full time caseload. Part-time Fee-For-Service options are also available.
