Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimizing our inventory operations. This position is critical to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory program, particularly for materials used by contractors in fiber optic and WiFi cable installation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-volume, small-part inventories, possess strong organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
This role involves managing inventory directly on contractor sites, which includes organizing, labeling, and tracking materials such as splitters, construction supplies, vaults, markers, and more. The position requires a continuous improvement mindset, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify stock information and unit identification numbers to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts in compliance with company policies.
- Unpackage, sort, and stage units for production as needed.
- Receive and record inventory using RF handheld devices.
- Maintain precise inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
- Organize and label inventory materials on contractor sites (outdoor and warehouse settings).
- Prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and operational needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/work outdoors for extended periods.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Experience with RF handheld devices is preferred but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.68 - $18.94 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
