Summary:
Uphold Better Together Animal Alliance values and mission and assures high quality customer service and teamwork by supervising the daily functions of the front desk and performing the duties as outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be Tuesday - Saturday 8:00-5:00pm
- Greet all guests, visitors, volunteers, and employees
- Answer phones in a timely manner
- Check phone messages, email and Facebook messages upon start of shift and periodically throughout the day and ensure prompt follow-up
- Managing intake, lobby/reception and answering phones
- Assist adopters with adoption paperwork
- Handle financial transactions associated with donations, adoptions, etc.
- Responsible for reconciling all transactions and balancing the register at the end of the day • Refer people to our Lost and Found directory if they have a missing or found pet. Collect information from those who do not have internet access and make the report on their behalf
- Cross reference all incoming strays with lost and found files as they come in
- Complete Intake Forms, log, and file as animals come in. Responsible for making all files and collecting appropriate records on all animals entering the care center
- Help direct and instruct public to view animals with proper procedures for safety and sanitation • Ensure a clear and helpful explanation of procedures for inquiries regarding adoption, intakes, fostering, and volunteering
- Complete spay/neuter vouchers for the low income program
- Distribute dog and cat food through Food Bank procedure
- Supervise lobby area for safety
- Daily cleaning of lobby and intake area

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk and sit and stand; is regularly required to use both hands to make coordinated movements to grasp or type; is regularly required to lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Proper lifting technique is required.
Work Environment:
The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is exposed to animal feces and animals with a potential for zoonotic exposure.
