About Us
Better U is an alternative mental health organization connecting individuals to licensed professionals for clinician-prescribed psychedelic therapies and education. Our holistic program includes talk therapy, functional neurology, psychedelic therapy, and other alternative modalities to improve mental health and achieve long-term success.
We aim to reform psychiatry from a "diagnose and treat illness" model to one focused on thought expansion, neurological resets, and spiritual health.
In addition to our clinical mission, we manage the personal brand of our founder (@derekddd), amplifying thought leadership in mental health and wellness.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in West Hollywood, CA. As our Social Media Content Creator, Community Manager, and Personal Brand Builder, you will be responsible for :
Content creation
Community engagement
Brand management
Marketing strategy execution across multiple platforms
Leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance creativity
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
Plan, script, shoot, edit, and produce high-quality video content tailored for TikTok, Instagram (Reels / Stories), YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and blogs.
Develop engaging content strategies aligned with Better U’s mission and the personal branding goals of our founder.
Create visually appealing graphics using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT (content ideation), Synthesia (AI-generated videos), MidJourney (unique visuals), Jasper AI (copywriting), and automation platforms like Hootsuite or Buffer.
Community Management
Foster a supportive online community by responding to comments / messages promptly.
Monitor interactions across platforms to build brand loyalty.
Build relationships with followers and influencers aligned with our mission.
Personal Brand Building
Collaborate with the founder to amplify their personal brand through storytelling and curated content.
Develop strategies to grow followers and engagement on @derekddd’s social media channels.
Analytics & Growth Hacking
Track performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics or platform-native insights to refine strategies for growth.
Implement innovative campaigns (e.g., user-generated content) to expand audience reach.
Conduct market research to identify trends in mental health advocacy and digital marketing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Video Production Expertise
Proficiency in filming techniques (lighting / sound) for social media platforms.
Skilled in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or VEED.IO.
Social Media Expertise
Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram algorithms / trends, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn best practices.
Proven ability to craft viral content that aligns with brand identity.
AI Tools & Automation Expertise
Familiarity with AI-driven tools like ChatGPT (content ideation / scripting), Synthesia (AI video creation), Jasper AI (automated copywriting), MidJourney (graphic creation), and Descript (video / audio editing).
Community Engagement
Experience moderating comments / messages professionally to foster a positive online presence.
Other Preferred Qualifications
3–5 years of experience managing social media accounts for brands or individuals.
A strong portfolio showcasing short-form video content created for TikTok or Instagram and LinkedIn.
Background in the mental health industry or related fields is a plus!
