About the role
Betterment’s mission is to empower people to do what’s best for their money so that they can live better. As the Assistant Finance and Operations Professional (FINOP), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all financial and operational aspects of our broker dealer business. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with industry regulations, maintain accurate financial records, and optimize operational processes to support our growth. You will also help drive the team’s priorities to fulfill the broker-dealer’s multiple mandates :
Enhance Systems & Controls - help minimize risk to protect the assets that our clients have entrusted to us Maximize Efficiency - improve our processes and look to implement automation to reduce repetitive and manual workflows Support Growth - work cross functionally to facilitate the launch of new products and services, ensuring that our financial, regulatory, and controls frameworks are appropriately in place
This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.
- New York City : $145,000 - $170,000

This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong understanding of broker dealer operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, particularly in the tech-driven financial services sector.
