Asphalt Plant Electrician
Position Overview :
The asphalt plant electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical systems within the asphalt plant, including wiring, control panels, motors, and other equipment, ensuring the plant operates safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and making necessary upgrades when required; working in accordance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Installing new electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems, be familiar with frequency drive and control wiring, as well as performing routine maintenance on existing electrical components like motors, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Diagnosing and fixing electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns on plant machinery.
- Identify and source electrical parts and components as needed.
- Implementing upgrades or modifications to electrical systems to improve efficiency or comply with new regulations.
- Adhering to all electrical safety codes and procedures, including lockout / tagout protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with plant operators, production staff, and management to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
- Identify and source electrical parts and components as needed.
