Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee the activities, production, and schedule of the assigned operating shift.

Safety

• Ensure safe working conditions and practices for all employees by working closely with Bettis Safety team on at least a bi-weekly basis

• Work with the Bettis Safety team and vendors to ensure PPE is being properly utilized and stocked

• Ensure all areas are clean and organized by working with every team member about cleaning after their work concludes and cleaning during down time

• Implement safety improvement projects such as safety lines and paths

Quality

• Working with employees on quality at the source and ensuring that everything that leaves our shop is of high quality

• Quality planning so that all processes, materials and resources needed are allocated to achieve a quality product in the end

• Product design and development and working with our CAD and Engineering staff to create a quality design from inception to eliminate any quality defects in the end.

• Review incoming products from suppliers. Ensure all their schedules are met and review product for correct quantities and perform quality checks.

Production

• Develop customer quotes with CAD, Engineering and Project Managers

• Maintaining digital project and customer folders

• Create job packs for production floor including all specifications and customer or internal drawings

• Work closely with suppliers on quotations, negotiations and all purchases

• Maintain job scheduling to ensure all due dates are met

• Create all job shipping information and coordinate outgoing plan with production floor and delivery driver

• Schedule trucks as needed for longer transit products

• Customer service and communication

• Weekly payroll for all Bettis Fabrication staff, includes entry and detailed review prior to accounting posting

• Owning job profitability and time management to ensure a job stays on track

• All Bettis Fabrication customer invoicing

• All Bettis Fabrication ticket coding to ensure all costs are allocated to the proper jobs

• Work with BCI Controller on monthly accounting reports

• Support BCI Project Managers on their site jobs as needed, typically material ordering and providing staff/scheduling

• All Bettis Fabrication HR tasks such as disciplinary/employee issues, benefits, payroll, hiring, termination, raises, etc.

• Work with vendors and internal staff on preventative maintenance measures and repairs of all existing production equipment

• Managing and ordering consumables for fabrication and painting activities
