What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Betty Hardwick Center?
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, has responsibility for supervisory duties as well as performing financial analysis to monitor revenues, expenditures and financial trends.
Supervises the orderly accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of total unit results as well as the preparation of financial statements with schedules and exhibits. Prepares monthly journal entries.
Has overall responsibility for the supervision of staff in preparation of the general ledger, insurance, receivables, purchasing, budget, inventory, payables, and required cost reports. In collaboration with the CFO, assists with Resource Management Assistance Program (RMAP), payroll and daily cash management.
Must have the desire to understand the multiple facets of the Center, build relationships with managers, and seeks to advance within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- This position requires a Bachelor's Degree with major course work in accounting and business management (CPA certification preferred)
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in financial statement preparation (governmental accounting and knowledge of GAAP preferred)
- Extensive general ledger experience required and basic understanding of fund accounting
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in accounting or business
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (writing and speech)
- Must have experience in cost report preparation.
Will be eligible for a one and two year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
