BJK People's Health Centers provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. BJK People's Health Centers operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth. Many services are provided at schools. Emergency services, including a crisis bed and mobile outreach, are available twenty-four hours per day. A multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counselors, social workers, educators, and support staff work diligently to carry out the mission of providing comprehensive care to patients and their families.

Full Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position is tasked with conducting audit reviews under the supervision of the Compliance Manager or the Director of Quality and Compliance. The main objective of this role is to ensure that Behavioral Health documentation complies with all relevant rules and regulations, with a specific focus on adherence to DMH programming standards.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)
- Make sure that medical record documentation accurately conveys the information needed to justify the services provided and the associated billing
- Conducting targeted reviews to ensure compliance with accreditation and certification standards.
- Conduct follow-up reviews on incidents and complaints as assigned, including writing reports of evaluation and assessment findings
- conducts billing and audit reviews to identify problematic areas and follows up to ensure the issues have been resolved.
- Completes chart reviews and client satisfaction surveys and writes reports to communicate the results.
- Assist with quantitative reviews, data collection, data entry, data analysis
- Reporting any suspected or alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to the Compliance Manager or Director.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s (Masters preferred) degree in social sciences with two or more years of experience in the field of Developmental disabilities or Behavioral Health. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and experience in data entry and analysis.
Requirements (expected proficiencies to excel in this role)
1. Excellent verbal, organizational and written skills are needed.
2. Ability to effectively and timely utilize software programs, databases, spreadsheets and other tools that aid in completing duties.
3. Ability to handle confidential information. Thorough knowledge of compliance with state and federal laws.
4. Familiar with the Department of Mental Health billing and audit processes a MUST.
