Scooper - Betty Rae's Ice Cream Shop (s)

A customer facing team member of Kansas City's Best Ice Cream Company. Position is an hourly position with the ability to earn additional compensation through tips. Hourly rate including tips ranges between 22-26 per hour This is used as a historical guide on what has happened and is an illustration of past earnings not a guarantee of future compensation

We are searching for both part-time and full-time team members to join our Kansas City expansion - we have locations in Kansas City, Merriam, Olathe and Prairie Village. At Betty Rae's Ice Cream, we’re devoted to making better ice creams and bringing people together. Our scoop shops are at the heart of how we serve this mission. They are where we offer the ice creams we work so hard to build from the ground up—where people come together to share joy and conversation.

We view ice cream as a form of art. Our front of house team members are THE key team members to ensure that our mission and focus as a company is portrayed to our customers consistently and correctly. In addition to scooping ice cream, FOH members serve ice cream to our customers, make waffle products, run the register with cash management responsibilities, keep the shop clean, change out ice cream, and perform a number of other important, related tasks.

Qualities in a successful candidate include but are not limited too Exhibit passion for community, an eye for detail, a willingness to clean (a lot), stamina (to serve people in long lines), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment The ability to positively influence a team of FOH experts, helping them uphold the highest standards and feel supported Resourceful and calm when challenges come up Have great judgment, common sense, and be skillful inter-personally Familiar with (and be able to articulate to customers) what distinguishes BRIC from other ice creams, and be able to articulate that to the every single customer Available to work weekends, late nights (past 11 p.m.) Provide consistent, world-class service to every single customer Reliable, on time, and ready to hustle for every shift Committed to the well-being of their shop team, their community, and the environment around them.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

• Provide efficient, friendly and excellent customer service
• Product knowledge, whereabouts, and the ability to explain specific product details
• Prepare orders correctly & within company guidelines
• Total orders, accept & process payments (both cash, debit/credit), and provide correct change
• Restock ice cream, supplies and merchandise as necessary
• Follow all Policies, procedures and guidance regarding Health Code – Obtain Health Card

where needed

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 14 years of age
• Able to lift heavy objects
• Work on feet in a fast paced environment for hours at a time
• Work in hot or cold environments (i.e. help restock freezers)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Outgoing, friendly; positive personality
• Able to work alone or in a team environment
• Previous cash handling an asset
• Part-time hours available during school, possible full-time hours in summer
