POSITION SUMMARYA Teacher creates a plan of instruction and a class environment that is favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with pupils; motivates pupils to develop skills, positive attitudes and knowledge; and establishes good relationships with parents and other staff members.RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDirector of Learning

• Provide direct instruction for students.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences and learning styles.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Manage student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment and in compliance with district and state guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
• Provide timely and appropriate plans for substitutes as necessary.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning through formal and informal testing.
• Persistent belief in the potential for all students to succeed academically with an asset-based mindset
• Ability to communicate respectfully and in a culturally proficient manner with parents/guardians about student progress and language acquisition
• Ability to analyze and utilize student data to develop and/or co-create curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners.
