The District is seeking a part time o Physical Therapist Assistant. Experience preferred working with a range of students, PreK-22. This position requires travel between schools.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting with the functional mobility and safety of students within the school environment by providing direct skilled therapy services/supervise provision of services, design, implement, and modify strategies for use throughout the school, and train staff to work with students whose disabilities inhibit their ability to participate and access their educational curriculum and environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provides direct skilled physical therapy services on an individual or small group basis and consultation services as specified in the IEP.
Assists in the development and implementation of an individualized education plan (IEP) for each student receiving PT.
Supports scheduling of PT services with other therapists and teachers.
Collaborates with teachers and other therapy disciplines regarding classroom/school function accommodations and modifications for students.
Maintains data regarding student progress and uses data to write progress reports.
Provides in service and instruction to special transportation staff on safety techniques for handling students.
Provides and develops remediation programs for special education and at risk students.
Completes documentation for reimbursement through Medicaid where applicable.
Attends in service. workshops and professional conferences.
Communicates with the Administrator of Special Education and building principals on matters related to PT.
Adheres to legal and ethical standards of practice for physical therapy and school policies.
