Position Summary
Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule: E3, Grade: 04 $39,759 - $57,251
Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Master federal regulations and information in federal publications related to Title IV.
- Work in conjunction with campus Student Services Specialist to provide assistance in completing Pell Grant files.
- Receive financial aid files from campus Student Services Specialists to ensure required documentation has been submitted. Inform students if files are not complete.
- Manage student accounts and computer services to achieve optimal efficiency and accuracy related to tracking and monitoring all financial aid awards, including recipients of Veteran’s benefits.
- Ensure Pell Grant applicants are eligible to receive federal assistance, (i.e., are not in default, do not owe an overpayment to Pell Grant Program, have not used eligibility at other institutions, have met acceleration requirements for second award, etc.).
- Coordinate disbursement of checks with Business Offices.
- Verify enrollment status of students to determine eligibility for each term disbursement.
- Track satisfactory academic progress of Pell Grant students, informing those who are not meeting progress standards.
- Utilize ARGOS reports to assist with processing financial aid awards.
- Notify students when ISIR information has been received.
- Maintain database of eligible SEOG students.
- Assist with the awarding of FWS, SEOG and ASAP.
- Enter FWS, SEOG and ASAP awards in Banner.
- Reconcile reports with Business Office for disbursement of CWS, SEOG and ASAP checks.
- Invoice Alabama Commission on Higher Education each term for the term award amount.
- Send a roster of ASAP students to ACHE on an annual basis.
- Certify private education loans.
- Send and receive scholarship applications.
- Compile scholarship database for campus-based and college-wide awarding.
- Send scholarship award letters to recipients.
- Assist as needed in the preparation of institutional, state, and federal reports pertaining to all financial aid programs.
- Perform other tasks, as needed, to support and facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Student Services Division of Bevill State Community College.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of an Associate Degree from an accredited institution is required, Bachelors Degree preferred. Working experience in student financial aid in a college setting within the past three years is preferred.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. All regular full-time and part-time employees (non-temporary and non- student) who work at least 20 hours per week are required to participate in The Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama.
Tier I - Pays 7.50% monthly. State matches 13.57% (effective 10/01/24)
