Summary
Under direction, is responsible for overseeing the Inmate Banking operations in the Adult Detention Center; supervises, trains, and evaluates Banking Clerks on all activities related to establishing and maintaining the Inmate Trust Fund in accordance with standards by Texas Commission on Jail Standards; establishes and modifies work schedule; monitors inmate banking activities; performs quality banking control checks; answers questions; prepares reports; testifies in court; assists with budget preparations;, and performs other duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares checks as required on transfer or otherwise authorized by inmate
- Prepares excel spreadsheet, electronic fund transfers, other wire transfers, and receipts
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates Banking Clerks
- Establishes and modifies work schedules and procedures to meet shift workload demands
- Performs audits of credits and debits to arrested individuals' and inmate accounts; reconciliation activities, and depositing and discharging of monies and personal property
- Coordinates Informant Fund transactions with the Sheriff Office's Business Office and other divisions
- Performs audits of inmate banking controls to ensure proper intake of arrested individuals' monies and personal property
- Resolves complex issues involving Computerized Inmate Banking System
- Responds to complaints from staff, vendors, inmates, other clients, and the general public
- Prepares and submits various departmental activity reports
- Testifies in court cases on behalf of the Sheriff's Office in regards to trust fund and personal property receipt issues
- Assists Business Operations Supervisor with preparation of work unit budget
- Prepares and coordinates personnel documentation for new hires, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Performs other duties as assigned
