Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected / Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement
Duties and Responsibilities
- Applies subject matter knowledge in the area of Business Analytics, providing services to clients in a shared services environment
- Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making.
- Identifies areas to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes
- Responsible for performing general analytics and statistical modeling on existing data sets in various areas of the county to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via understanding of the business model and the information available for analysis
- Uses data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making
- Improves data quality and designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing data using statistical tools like Microsoft Excel, SAS, SSRS, and others
- Interprets data, analyze results using statistical techniques
- Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Works with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locates and defines report and business intelligence improvement opportunities
- Performs other related technology duties and projects as assigned
