Under direct supervision, is responsible for assisting inmates in the Adult Detention Center or Jail Annex Libraries; searches for legal reading materials; obtains additional reading materials from outside sources; interprets legal terminology; maintains request logs; schedules inmates to attend law library; notarizes legal documents; makes copies; orders and maintains equipment, materials and supplies; and performs related duties as required.
Responsibilities :
- Assists inmates in searching for legal reading materials in the Adult Detention Center or Jail Annex Libraries.
- Interacts with other local libraries to obtain legal reading materials not available at Adult Detention Center or Jail Annex Libraries.
- Assists inmates in interpreting legal terminology.
- Maintains logs of materials requested by inmates.
- Schedules inmates to attend law library and maintains records.
- Shelves and files legal reading materials.
- Notarizes legal documents such as motions for inmates filing court appeals.
- Copies legal reading materials not available to inmates.
- Orders and maintains equipment, materials and supplies.
- Performs other duties as required.
