We are seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator to join our IT team and support our growing infrastructure across BBB's offices in New York, Washington, DC, Miami, and Boston. This role will work closely with the Helpdesk Technician and the Director of Information Systems to manage and maintain our IT systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems administration, experience with AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) environments, and a willingness to assist with helpdesk operations. Some travel to our DC and Boston offices may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple offices and remote locations.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
- Manage and maintain hybrid file systems such as Egnyte, Nasuni, or Panzura.
- Support VMware virtualization environments and assist with VM provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure management, including AWS or Azure.
- Configure and maintain Cisco equipment, including switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Support Cisco Collaboration tools and AV systems for office meetings and remote collaboration.
- Respond to and resolve IT tickets using ticketing systems such as Jira or Freshworks.
- Utilize RMM software to support off-site staff and resolve issues efficiently.
- Assist in the implementation of new technologies, system upgrades, and data or server migrations.
- Maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, including VPN, file access permissions and password policies.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- 3 years of IT support experience in a Systems Admin or similar role, experience working within Architecture, Engineering, or Construction is preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows environments, including Windows 10/11, and AD/DC.
- Proficiency in Office 365 administration and tools (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP).
- Experience using IT ticketing systems such as Freshworks, ServiceNow, or Zendesk.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and
mobile devices.
- Customer-focused with the ability to engage positively in active listening and foster collaboration.
- Relevant certifications (Network , Security , Azure, VMware, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
Additional Considerations:
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell.
- Experience with system automation and workflow improvements.
- Familiarity with AEC-specific software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to our DC and Boston offices.
Compensation:
BBB offers fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 70,000-80,000, with variations depending on experience, education, achievements, and business needs. Employees may also receive an annual performance-based bonus and salary increase.
