We are seeking an experienced Helpdesk Technician to provide advanced IT support across our AEC firm's offices in New York, Washington, DC, Miami, and Boston. This individual will work alongside the Director of IT and Helpdesk Technician to ensure smooth IT operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and assist with IT projects. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly, think creatively, and work effectively in a team to support on-site and remote staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT support to a staff of 170 across multiple offices and remote locations.
- Manage and resolve IT tickets, including advanced troubleshooting via phone, email, and on-site support.
- Assist with conference room and AV system setup, including troubleshooting issues for office meetings.
- Lead end-user training sessions on IT best practices, Office 365 tools, and security awareness.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain software and hardware for end users.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and optimize systems.
- Support Office 365 tools (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and assist in user administration.
- Troubleshoot end-user issues related to Windows, macOS, Office 365, and common business applications.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, including VPN, file access permissions, and password policies.
- Document IT systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to enhance knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior helpdesk staff.
- Work on IT projects, including system migrations, software rollouts, and workflow improvements.
- 5 years of IT support experience in a helpdesk or IT support role, preferably in an AEC setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows 10/11, macOS, and Office 365.
- Proficiency in Office 365 administration (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting AV systems for conference rooms and meetings.
- Experience using IT ticketing systems such as Freshworks, ServiceNow, or Zendesk.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile.
- Strong communication with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-tech users.
- Customer-focused with a positive, solution-driven mindset.
- Relevant certifications (Network , Security , Azure, Office 365) are a plus.
- Experience with basic user administration in Windows Server (Active Directory, GPO)
- Knowledge of common business applications and troubleshooting strategies.
- Experience implementing workflow improvements and process automation.
- Familiarity with AEC environments or specific software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, Panzura, Nasuni, or Egnyte File System Platforms).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to our DC and Boston offices.
